Gabriela Chavarria - Science Advisor (ADVANCE /AGNR talk) "Travels, Trials, and Tribulations: A Career in Natural Resources" Dr. Gabriela Chavarria Chavarria brings her personal experience in research, NGOs, and a spectrum of national and international committees to her current position as Science Advisor to the Director for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Dr. Chavarria provides leadership on science policy and scientific applications in resource management. Prior to her work with the Fish and Wildlife Service, Chavarria directed the Natural Resources Defense Council's Science Center, where she translated the most up-to-date science into solutions for environmental problems. Earlier in her career, she worked at Defenders of Wildlife, the National Wildlife Federation, and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
